I used to be so bothered by empty shelves, especially right before the sales ended. I used to call the store and stop by to see if the items I needed were restocked. I wasted unnecessary time and gas doing so! NOT ANYMORE!
I get RAINCHECKS! Rainchecks guarantees the price of the sale item up to 90 days, in some cases, indefinitely. Unfortunately, if there was a rewards involved (Register Rewards, Extra Care Bucks, UP+ Rewards or Gift Cards), those were not guaranteed but you may have it honored based on the store/manager.
This is how I keep track of my rainchecks. I cut out the store coupon and manufacturer coupons and staple it to the raincheck. I have a file section strictly for my rainchecks so I will put it in that. 
When I go to the store to shop for this week's sales, I will pull out all my rainchecks and see if any of the items are replenished. So, in this case, The Dawn dish soap was fully stocked so I was able to get full range of choices to pick from, no worrying if it was going to be empty. I paid $.34 each for Dawn dish soap!
Original price:$1.59, raincheck for $.99. I used my 15% military discount=$.84-$.50 coupon=$.34 each!
There may be some instances when you have a raincheck, your coupon is expiring. No worries because another coupon will be in another insert or in the coupons.com database and may be a higher priced coupon! Especially when you have a raincheck that doesn't expire for quite awhile, you have CONTROL over WHEN you want to buy it.
No shelf clearer is going to stop me from getting my deals! I may not get it right away but I will always have that option to get it anytime!
