This was my purchase from CVS this morning! I paid just under $10!
Before the shopping trip, I wrote things that I needed to buy. One the paper, I wrote what I wanted to buy and any rewards (Extra Care Bucks) that were being offered.
Then, I went through my coupon organizer and found all the coupons that matched the sales flyer.
I rewrote the list and subtracted the coupons to get my final price. Any Extra Care Bucks I receieved from the transaction went towards the next transaction.
This was my first purchase. I bought two Crest BE toothpaste. I used two $1 manufacturer coupons, used Extra Care Coupon of $2 off $10 purchase and a $3 Extra Care Bucks (from a previous purchase). I paid $2.98 and received $8 ECB back!
And I bought a People magazine, which I will get a $1 cash back from Checkout51! So, after that, I will end up paying $8.03.
As you can see, I did not get the Aquaphor lotion (sold out) so therefore it "sabotaged" my purchase for the razors. I didn't buy the razor deal: Buy $30 and get $10 ECB. If I had bought the Aquaphor lotion, I would have received the $5 ECB and put it towards the Gillette deal.
As a couponer, you want to prepared mentally about certain deals falling through. I had a feeling that the lotion would sell out but I made the decision to wait on the razor deal if that did happen. I will try again later this week but after posting this, I won't hold my breath! LOL
